Firearms Safety

This class is geared toward teaching firearms safety to students that are 12 – 14 years of age. The Minnesota DNR requires attendance at all sessions, successful completion of a written exam, and of field training to include firing at least 15 rounds of live .22-caliber ammunition. Upon successful completion of the class, you will receive a DNR Firearms Safety Certification. Parents are not allowed in the school building this year. Students should bring their own snack. Register by April 26th. Early registration is recommended as the class size is limited to 15 students. The instructors will supply the guns.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, May 3, 4, 6, 7, 2021; 3:30-7:00 p.m.; Cherry School; and Saturday, May 8, 2021; 8:00 a.m.; Hibbing Rifle Range; Class fee $6 (paid to Community Education in advance), there will be a Supply Fee of $5 paid directly to the instructors on the first night of class. An additional $7.50 will be paid directly to the DNR upon completion of the course, to obtain the certificate.
